Intermedia offers hosted exchange, managed dedicated servers, shared web hosting, and business email. All of Intermedia’s plans are set up on a 12 month contract.

Hosted Exchange 2003 Server

Intermedia excels when it comes to helping businesses communicate and their hosted exchange servers prove it. They offer two plans so that the business can choose which is cheaper and more efficient for their business. The shared exchange is priced at $9.95 a month per mailbox and offers 200 megabytes of disk space per mailbox, free outlook 2003, and antivirus. This plan is perfect for the small business with only a few employees, but would quickly run into large sums of money for a large corporation. This is where the second plan comes to the rescue. The dedicated Exchange program cost only $595.00 a month no matter how many mail boxes are in use. The plan offers flexible storage space for each mailbox, biweekly backup, unlimited mail enabled top level public folders, free Outlook 2003, and assistance in migration from existing mail platforms.

Managed Dedicated Hosting

Intermedia offers three plans of managed Dedicated Hosting. The plans range in price from $300.00 a month for the Value Managed Plan to $660.00 a month for the Advanced Managed Plan. The Value Managed Plan offers a Dell 750 (1u) base server Pentium 4 processor, 2x40 gigabytes SATA RAID1, 256 megabytes of RAM, Windows 2003 server web edition, 50 megabytes a month of transfer, 1 IP address, and ½ hour of server administration assistance. The Advanced Managed plan offers a Dell 2850 (2u) base server, a Xeon 2.4 gigahertz, 2x36 gigabyte SCGI RAID1, 1gigabyte RAM, Windows 2003 server web edition, 300 megabytes of data transfer, 2 IP addresses, and 1 hour a month of server administration assistance. All servers come with a large number of extra support and services.

Windows Preferred Hosting

There are four plans of Windows preferred hosting available ranging from $89.95 a month with 6000 megabytes of disk space, 150 gigabytes of traffic, unlimited mailboxes, and five MSSQL databases to $109.95with 6000 megabytes of disk space, 150 gigabytes of traffic, unlimited mailboxes, Miva merchant, and 5 MSSQL databases.

Shared Web Hosting

Intermedia hasn’t forgotten Shared Web hosting. In fact they have multiple plans for Linux, Windows, Cold Fusion and Ecommerce.

Business Email

Intermedia’s business email plans start at $3.95 a month and range to $7.95 a month. With the $3.95 plan three email accounts and 1gigabyte of mailbox space is available, but for only four dollars more the $7.95 plan offers 30 email accounts, and 1 gigabyte of mailbox space.

Services

Unfortunately, services are not Intermedia’s best asset. However, they do have Outlook Express available for download from their site, and domain registration is available.

Intermedia has successfully closed the market on internal communication while remaining an effective web host.
